description

The design of the set is based on the central themes of the opera, the aspirations and dreams of the characters and their continual searching. The blurring of their reality and fantasy is expressed in the set by the moving of elements in and out of forms. Precision emerges out of a vague background as dreams become real.

The set is designed as a series of planes. There is a play between the solid and transparent, real and fantasy, with changes of light characters dissolve, and their settings transform, both in clarity and in depth.
