description

The set is a wooden frame forming the surrounds of an aperture through which various screens are seen. There is a forestage where the singers can perform. Onto the screens film sequences, and slide images are projected. The whole theatre including balconies above the stage and the orchestra pit become where the action of the text and songs are played out. The status of film changes form throughout the evening. For example half way through the evening the orchestra appears on stage behind a gauze and seem to be on film, and at another moment the singers stand in front of images of themselves at various scales.
